Carroll County Energy

Ohio, USA

Carroll County Energy, a 700 MW combined-cycle natural gas electric generation facility in Carroll County, Ohio, was constructed by Advanced Power in partnership with TIAA-CREF, Chubu Electric Power Co. Inc., Prudential Financial Inc. and Ullico Inc.

Advanced Power closed the $899 million project financing in April 2015 and immediately began construction on the state-of-the-art facility. Located in northeastern Ohio, Carroll County Energy is strategically located near AEP’s 345 kV transmission lines and Kinder Morgan’s Tennessee Gas Pipeline system, and is selling energy, capacity and ancillary services into the PJM market.

The facility features two GE 7F.05 gas turbines and a D602 steam turbine which have the capacity to generate electricity for approximately 750,000 homes. Bechtel built the project under a turnkey construction contract. Ethos Energy is operating the facility and Advanced Power was the construction manager and remains as the asset manager during operations.
